Complete Service:
We offer a complete service, from concept through to project co-ordination and installation, working with private clients, architects, property developers and co-ordinating with other interior designers.
3D Visualisation:
We generate drawings in-house in both auto-CAD and Vector Works, providing 3D visualisation for clients where required.
Renovation:
Renovation is at the heart of what we do at DDL. I feel passionate about reading what an existing building can do and what we can ask it to adapt to. Being sensitive to this can not only create a wonderful result, but it can also control budgets.
Extension and Adaption:
I feel that extending a property is not always essential, often assessing the use a family or individual has for their space and redistributing spaces can often create the same or better result. For Example: changing the location or size of a stair case can unlock spaces that would otherwise be blocked off. Where an Extension is the best solution to rationalising and maximising the accommodation however, the most important considerations in my designs for the additional space are flow, efficiency and seamless integration of the gained area into the existing space. The extension should feel like it has always been there.
Kitchens:
People are much more focused on the kitchen these days and the saying of “the kitchen is the heart of the home” is used far more regularly used that previously. With this in mind we are well focused and schooled on what is possible with kitchen design. A good kitchen can turn a small space into ample room for entertaining and producing food for a large party. As a company we can source any grade of kitchen from Budget through to Named Brand Bespoke solutions. We are also now starting to offer hand built Kitchen designed and built in house! Bathrooms:
In a similar way to Kitchens, bathrooms, when well designed and considered, can enhance the time that we spend in them. Be it a luxurious space to relax in or a simple shower and go, we can work out the requirement and find the product best suited to the client’s desire. Identifying privacy as a key factor, lighting and functionality, all aspects are considered even for the smallest room in the house! Another key note to make about bathrooms is that a badly planned bathroom can cost twice as much as a well-planned one, there are practical considerations that send the costs spiralling if they are not considered fully!
Finishes:
Sourcing finishes to complete a design is often the point at which we first consider the work we want done, be it the colour of the paint, carpet or curtains. Or the furniture that we have always coveted, we can source this in the most cost effective manner. Using our industry contacts and potential trade discounts to help finish the design so that it mirrors the minds eye.
Lighting, Mechanical, Electrical, Audio Visual:
Lighting is an unsung hero in the design world, and without proper consideration for the lighting controls and light sources a room can become less welcoming. We can include a simple lighting design and consideration as part of the concept we work on together. It is essential to include these considerations in the first place to retain full functionality, however, I think that technology is moving towards the consumer with all products being more plug and play these days.
